Joke (Joker) Is on You

Joke (Joker) Is on You plays with the distance between a joke, a joker and the experience of noticing a second meaning. The title sets up a visual encounter in which humor and uncertainty can coexist.

Reising’s surrealist practice frequently uses delayed recognition: what first appears straightforward changes as shapes, edges and relationships become more apparent. This artwork invites viewers to revisit their initial impression.

Part of the KNR Studio mixed-media collection, Joke (Joker) Is on You approaches visual storytelling as something the viewer actively discovers rather than receives all at once.
